Strzelecki Ranges Tour: Postscript

Last week Justin and I completed 3 days of a 4 day tour - the last day was meant to take us home from Warragul to Lilydale via Powelltown, but alas poor weather saw us on the train home from Warragul instead .

So Friday 4th December we took the train back to Warragul and did the missing last day's ride of 101kms in much better weather and, without touring baggage, it was an easier ride, though quite lumpy from Warragul to Neerim.

We stopped for a coffee at Neerim South, something to eat at 'The Powelly' and more water at Yarra Junction and the horse trough on the Warby Trail, as it got quite hot this afternoon.

We made pretty good time for two 'seniors' though tempered slightly by some minor mechanicals for Justin which restricted the pace on some of the nice flowing descents, particularly into Powelltown. The suggestion has already been made that he might want to ride some of those sections again !

All up it is a good ride to have done but would have been a very solid day for us as the last day of a tour so I'm glad in a way that it turned out as it did.
